Calco documentation
Everything you need to convert, manage, and integrate document templates at scale. Pick a topic below to get started.
Calco comes two ways. As a subscription on the Unikia platform, it is fully hosted — sign in and start rendering, with no infrastructure to run. As an enterprise product, it is delivered as a private binary or Docker image you run on your own infrastructure (see Self-hosting & deployment). The rendering engine, API, web dashboard, and MCP server are identical in both; only the operational concerns — installation, configuration, storage, and the database — apply to the self-hosted distribution.
Self-hosting & deployment
Run the enterprise binary or Docker image on your own infrastructure: prerequisites, configuration, database, and storage.
Rendering documents
Learn how Calco converts XLSX and DOCX templates to PDF, HTML, and image formats with JSON data injection.
Organizations
Set up multi-tenant organizations, manage members, and scope templates and API keys per org.
API reference
Complete HTTP API reference: authentication, template management, hash-first rendering, and batch exports.
MCP / AI agents
Connect Calco to AI assistants and web-chat connectors via the Model Context Protocol: list templates, inspect schemas, and render documents from any MCP client.
CLI reference
Every calco subcommand and flag in one place: convert, serve, sign, verify, and storage migrate.
Client libraries
Official client libraries for Node.js, Python, PHP, Go, Java, C#, and Ruby — install, authenticate, render, and integrate with your framework.
